FIMI X8 SE Features
A 3-axis mechanical gimbal for smooth videos, 5 kilometers range, and 33 minutes of flight time to name a few. The FIMI X8 SE offers a lot for a drone priced below $500.
Xiaomi’s latest drone also features a Sony IMX378 sensor with a f/2.2 aperture lens. The high quality sensor and lens lead to much better color performance as compared to the ‘mi’ drone’s from FIMI.

The FIMI X8 SE is available through the official FIMI store for a sale price of $399 now through January 15, 2019. The price will increase to $499 after the sale period.
It isn’t clear if the drone will be available on other marketplaces at this time. The FIMI Store also does not make it clear where exactly this drone is available for sale. Users of Chinese website Zhihu suspect this drone is only available for overseas markets and is not available in China itself, but that is not confirmed by Xiaomi at this time.

Anyone have experience with, or know the quality of Xiaomi customer care? DJI has a great team and customer care program, eg the Care program, here in the U.S. Curious with Xiamomi, are you on your own if/when a problem arises?
This has been very frustrating. You stated you were running a promotional until mid January, but during ghe entire promotional period yiu were out of wtock on the Fimi X8 SE at $399. That doesnt seem fair to the consumer. Now that the promotion period is over, suddenly at the higher price point, there seems to be stock. I wanted to get this drne to compete it against my friends Mavic Pro because frm what Ive seen , it seems very competitve quality wise, but I wanted ut at the special price. Will anything be dine to offer buyers a chance at this drone at the original discounted price, or are we just out of luck?

As a certified pilot and having owned and used a number of drones from DJI and Parrot, I found this possessed many of the similar traits. There’s a large number of intelligent flights modes for any user from beginner to advanced and each are simple to setup. The folding design also makes this perfect for travel or just throwing in a back when you’re heading somewhere.
