All of the Different Types of Files You Can Open in Photoshop
Photoshop is a versatile image editing tool, but did you know that you could add more than just image files? Photoshop can open a plethora of image file types, as well as video and even audio files!

Graphic file formats
Obviously Photoshop is known for image files. You probably spend a lot of time with JPEG, PNG, and other common formats, but Photoshop actually covers a wide range of image file types. If you have an image file, Photoshop can probably open it!

Video import formats
You may be asking yourself, “Wait, why does Photoshop open video files?” Well, you may have even more questions after learning that Photoshop has an entire video editor built in to it! While most serious editors would use something like Adobe Premiere Pro to edit videos, a dedicated Photoshop user may be able to use Photoshop for simple effects or color grading that come more naturally in Photoshop than in other programs. The editor is actually pretty similar to the one in Premiere Pro, with a layered timeline, keyframes, and an audio track. You can easily create keyframes for things like position and opacity. For color grading, you can simply use adjustment layers to apply effects to the entire clip. To apply a filter from the filter gallery, you first need to turn the video layer into a smart object, then you can apply any filter to it.
