Adobe Creative Cloud 2022 App Updates Available Now

The Adobe Creative Cloud video applications have officially been updated to their 2022 versions as part of Adobe Max. These app updates include plenty of new features and changes to the workflow. We’ll be breaking down the highlights of this update here, but be sure to try out the apps for yourself.

Photoshop 2022 Updates

Photoshop iha received some great updates, including AI-driven tools. The first is the Object Selection Tool. This tool can now detect most objects thanks to Sensei AI. All you need to do is hover over an object! Selections made this way are now more accurate than before, and you can always adjust the selection. The feature to select and mask all detected objects has also been added, allowing you to break apart each object with a single click.

Neural Filters has been in Photoshop since last year, but this feature has been made simpler. The update ships with several new “beta” filters along with feedback tools. There are numerous other beta features added into the Neural Filters tool.

Premiere Pro 2022 Updates

Premiere Pro comes with a few exciting new updates. Simplify Sequence is a new tool that cleans up a sequence by removing gaps, unused tracks, and more. The Speech to Text tool for transcriptions has been updated in 13 languages to have increased accuracy for pop culture terminology. This should save more time during transcriptions.

Premiere Pro will now have better color management for H.264 and HEVC formats. This includes 10-bit and HDR video from modern mirrorless cameras and iPhones. You will see these changes reflected on import and export as well as Lumetri.

After Effects 2022 Updates

We previously reported on the addition of Multi-Frame Rendering in After Effects beta. Now it has come to the full 2022 release of the app. Multi-Frame Rendering can perform up to 4 times faster than normal rendering by taking full advantage of CPU power. Tools like Roto Brush 2 which is powered by Adobe Sensei, are optimized for Multi-Frame Rendering, so you’ll see performance improvements across the board if you have a high-end CPU.

There are other various workflow optimizations. Notably, there is a new feature called Speculative Preview. This feature renders compositions in the background while the system is idle, which should save users some time. Composition Profiler is another great tool, that highlights the layers and effects that will have the biggest impact on processing time. Using this tool, users can work on optimizing their projects and tackling the highest-impact areas first. On top of that, the Render Queue now has more information. Additionally, using Media Encoder will mean that users can continue to edit in After Effects even when a project is rendering.

Other Program Updates

  • Character Animator is getting a new Body Tracker tool powered by Adobe Sensei. This tool will let animators use their body to creature motion tracking. For those without experience in animation and keyframing, this will make animating puppets in Character Animator accessible to many more people.
  • Illustrator has new collaborative features that lets users get comments on their documents. The program also has a new 3D effects panel that makes it easy to add depth to objects. Notably, Adobe announced plans to create an Illustrator web editor.
