Alexander Wang: WANGFEST 2017 at NYFW
Alexander Wang’s WANGFEST was a show to remember this year. With multiple runway shows spread throughout the city utilizing a mobile-runway, Wang truly outdid himself yet again.
Not only were his designs new, improved, and more unique than ever, but Wang put on more than just a show. When guests arrived, Wang had his hosts handing out free hamburgers for everyone while they awaited the models and the set to arrive. Once the guests had been arranged along the sides of the soon to be runway, the trucks started to pull up…
Truck after truck and bus after bus, Wang’s people began moving everything in to place, driving it right up into the lot while people watched the set come to life.
Then the last bus pulled up, and everything came together. The crowd became silent, enormous set lights began to flare, and bass-filled music started to bang through the streets only making the anticipation for the models and Wang’s designs even more apparent.
And that’s when the show started. Fierce models began walking, intensely and with passionate strides, and Wang’s new designs started to become more and more lively and bright throughout the show.
