3. Use the Right #Hashtags

If your goal on Instagram is to get high levels of engagements with your current audience on a regular basis while growing your number of real followers. Posting new and engaging photos will put a check in the first box on that first half, but to begin growing you’ll need to find proper and popular hashtags on your photos. Hash-tagging your photos makes it easy for people to find photos that are searching for those specific terms that they are interested in. So which hashtags should you use? If you want to tag your photos, you’ll need to do a little research on what is going to be the most relevant hashtags for your brand or industry.

4. Use Geotags

It is good to show that you, as a business owner, are invested in your local community. So you can tag where you are and what you are doing with geotags for your photos. Did you know that locations have their own Instagram feed? Just like hashtags that you can contribute to this feed when you use the location sticker in your own Stories or geotags in the photos.

5. Ask For More Followers

It might sound obvious, but it deserves to be said: Don’t be afraid to occasionally ask your audience to follow you. Just like with sales, if you don’t ask for the sale you won’t get it. Many Social Media Gurus ask their viewers to follow them at the end of their videos or posts – this is something you should emulate. People, obviously, enjoy what you are posting on Instagram but they might need a nudge before they actually follow you. A simple reminder the users that they can subscribe to get more in the comments of a post.

6. Tell a story with your captions

It is important that people get to know you on Instagram. People want to connect with fellow or like minded people that they want “get to know” on social media. I follow a lot of businesses and entrepreneurs on Instagram that is successful and most of them write long captions about their life and struggles, I honestly feel like I know them. You can utilize your caption to really connect with your audience. Although it can seem a bit strange at first like you’re talking to a brick wall, it’s worth it and you’re not. Your followers really love to read that stuff. It’s also a good trick to end your caption with a question (again, like talking to a brick wall) because this encourages people to comment.

7. Engage, engage, engage!

This one of the most important tips we can give you! You must engage that with your customers or your audiences. I have made a lot of great business relationships through Instagram, and also met a lot of people who have turned out to be clients. Many people overlook this step because it’s so time-consuming, but for me, it has been one of the most useful techniques for client acquisition.

Be constantly commenting on people’s posts and really mean what you are saying, engage with their caption and write a meaningful response. Especially try to engage with those that look like they could use your services, but be genuine about it and try to build a real Instagram relationship with them.

If you show people enough comment love, most people will show it back. This is extremely helpful as Instagram favors posts that have more comments (comments are more valuable than likes) and will push your post up the feed so more people see it.

Whatever tips you take and use from this article the one piece of advice we can give you is – BE CONSISTENT – CONSISTENCY IS KEY!
