Finding the right resources and guides to learn photography can be quite challenging. There are just so many different sites out there that it’s hard to know which are the best.

You’re looking for tips on finding the right camera, properly exposing a photo, and other photography skills, right? Well to help you save a little time, we put together this list of great sites to learn photography and answer any questions you might have.

1. Popular Photography

Popular Photograpy, also called Pop Photo, is a huge photography website with lot’s of useful tutorials, videos, and fun contests. If you want to improve your skills and find inspiration, I highly recommend adding this site to your bookmarks.

2.  Geoff Lawrence

Geoff Lawrence is one of the most thorough sites I’ve come across on photography. There are eight different sections to learn everything from the basics of where to start all the way to advanced lighting and compositional strategies. Some of the most challenging topics like choosing the right camera, getting exposure right, and learning about color are also covered in detail. Geoff’s site is a great reference for any photographer.

3. Digital Photography School

Digital Photography School has long been one of the best resources to the photography community. Not only do they have great articles, but they have a useful forums and books too. Definitely check it out and while you’re there, read our article about post-processing efficiency in Photoshop.

4. Udemy

Udemy is an online education marketplace with limitless variety: over 7 million students enrolled in more than 30,000 courses, taught by 19,000 instructors. Some of the best photography courses on the web can be found here.

5. Best Photo Lessons

Best Photo Lessons has some great quick tips and free photography lessons on their site. Add them to your list for additional tutorials and guides.

6. Photo.net

Photo.net is a huge photography community that includes forums, reviews, and galleries for members and casual viewers. You can find answers to pretty much any photography or equipment related questions here.

7. Tutsplus

Tutsplus is one of the largest tutorial sites around. They cover web design, photography, video, and so much more. Go look around their archives and search for ‘photography’. You’ll find a lot!

8. Fstoppers

Fstoppers is one of the biggest photography websites around the world. It attracts around 1 million visitors every month. The site has a huge collection of articles related to photography, lighting, gear reviews, business tips, behind the scenes, industry news, and more.

9. CreativeLive

CreativeLive empowers you to unleash your potential by bringing the world’s greatest experts directly to you, live. Featuring workshops in photography, video, design, business, audio, music, crafting, and software training.

10. Picture Correct

Picture Correct has great, relevant articles for photography and post-processing. They also have some great featured photos to inspire you daily.

11. Strobist

Learn how to light with Strobist, one of the oldest and best photography blogs around.

12. Cambridge In Colour

Cambridge in Colour is an online learning environment where photographers can come to improve their skills. On any given day, over 20,000 different people are learning about photography and contributing in the forums. If you have more obscure questions or prefer forums for learning, this is a great resource to check out.

13. SLR Lounge

SLR Lounge is full of amazing tutorials, videos, and guides for photographers. These aren’t short or basic either. You’ll learn a lot and you’ll learn more advanced techniques here.

14. Expert Photography

If you want a better understanding of your camera and equipment, Expert Photography is a great site to check out. They have some cool video tutorials that make it really easy to understand photography concepts.
