Finding unique, candid, and high quality images of your favorite rappers and musicians can be hard sometimes. Especially if you don’t know who’s taking the pictures. We created this list to help you figure out who’s documenting these musicians in a creative way.
Now-a-days, so many people have cameras and phone cameras that tons of photos can be taken of celebrities and at concerts, the hard part is finding the good ones. Let’s take a look at 13 photographers taking pictures of your favorite rapper.
The first photographer on our list is a photographer and videographer working with Genius and the Fader to help produce content based around some of our favorite musicians. Sam Balaban has shot many icons including Frank Ocean, Playboi Carti, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and more.
A graduate of Montclair State University and a persistent worker, Balaban has quickly gained recognition as a music photographer. Whether he’s shooting at a concert or one-on-one portraits, Sam always makes sure to add his own, unique touch.
Next up on our list is photographer Hannah Sider. Hannah was born in Malawi, Africa and later moved to New York, where she currently resides and studied communications. While studying communications she was able to tie together all of her passions – art, illustration, photography, journalism.
Hannah puts her own spin on all of her photos and her ability to communicate and bond with her subjects creates some incredible photos of our favorite artists including Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, and more!
David Hwang is another photographer on our list coming in with some incredible photos of Miguel, YG, Lil Uzi Vert & more. Hwang, like many others on this list is not only a photographer, but also a Director and a Digital Producer. Legendary photographer Kenneth Capello has been combining fashion photography with people and emotions for quite some time now and it shows in his work.
Many of his photos come from editorials and commercial work, rather than concerts and events, so Capello is able to get a more personal touch and feel which you are able to see, even feel.
Atlanta-born photographer and friend to many of the rap stars we all look up to, Gunner Stahl is one of the industry’s most well-connected photographers taking candid photos of Playboi Carti, Childish Gambino, Lil Uzi Vert, A$AP Mob, and more.

LA-based photographer Kevin Wong is next up on our list and his work will prove why. Kevin’s insane shots with some of the industry’s most unique characters are recognizable anywhere by his ability to capture figures in a comfortable and relaxed manner.

Raven Varona has been shooting since high school and has developed her own personal style as a portrait and music photographer. Working with artists like Cardi B, Future, Kanye West and more.
Originally from the Bronx and a graduate of NYU, Raven now works as a full time photographer who turned her passion into a career.
Cam Kirk is a Maryland-born photographer & videographer on our list who has worked with many hip hop artists such as T.I., Two Chainz, ScHoolboy Q, and many more.
He has also created an exhibition titled “Trap God” in an effort to bring together the art and music communities. He began the movement of trap house photography exhibits and revealed to the public, never before seen images of none other than Gucci Mane.
This inspiring photographer has been capturing faces for years now and has built up some collection. Stefan Kohli, the photographer behind the ‘100 HOURS’ Project, has set out to take photos of all of the industry’s best musicians and characters.
Founder of Chinatown Market and LA-based photographer Dillon Gerstung has been shooting candid photos at festivals, concerts, and everyday surroundings of some incredible rappers like YG, Famous Dex, Trippie Redd, and many more.

Gibson Hazard is currently on tour with Lil Pump and has been working with many artists in the past to capture images and document their shows. His ability to show scenes from the shows and the artist’s emotions is uncanny and leaves you wanting more.

Armen is an awesome photographer and YouTuber shooting tons of concert photos and candid shots of some of the world’s most well-known artists and celebrities. Not only does Armen shoot musicians, but he also shoots many red carpets and industry events where he has been able to capture images of Kobe Bryant, Gaten Matarazzo, Floyd Money Mayweather, and more.
13. Samuel Alemayhu
The last, but certainly not least on our list is a young photographer who’s shot tons of candid portraits of some of the most unique artists in the world. From concerts to private portrait sessions, Samuel has an all around amazing collection of photos.
