Sigma fp “Pocketable Full-Frame” Camera Announced
In July, Sigma announced the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless camera. The Sigma fp is a compact and flexible mirrorless camera that is Sigma’s take on an ‘entirely new system camera’.

SIGMA develops a user-oriented digital camera
Sigma’s goal with the fp is to develop a camera “that reflects the idea of “how a camera can be” in a more flexible and true-to-life manner, without conforming to manufacturers’ ideas of camera-centric categories and hierarchy”.

The Sigma fp features a 35mm full-frame Bayer sensor with 24.6 mp. The compact body is great for versatile shooting styles and allows for mixing and matching various lenses according to Sigma. The camera is casual and light enough at just under 400 grams, that you can take it anywhere for high quality photos.

The fp has a number of technological advances that can help with both photo and video creation. HDR Shooting is one major feature that takes difference exposures (for photo or video) at once and then merges to get great dynamic range.
The Cinemagraph function which is featured above allows for a blend of photography and video in the form of animated GIFs. You can keep part of a still image moving to add motion to your visuals. This function allows for the creation of cinemagraphs entirely in camera!
Professional Filmmaking Capabilities
The Sigma fp has support for full-fledged filmmaking with 12-bit CinemaDNG external recording for RAW footage and 4K UHD/24fps recording.
It also supports ALL-I recording which is optimal for editing H.264 compressed videos. For video output, it uses USB3.1 (GEN1), which allows a smooth data transmission to an external recording unit.
The cinema style interface makes it easy to integrate an fp into your video production unit.
