Sneak Peek: Advanced Color Grading Is Coming to Lightroom

There has recently been some speculation about Adobe advancing the split toning features in Lightroom. Today, the company confirmed this in a sneak peak video they uploaded to their Youtube channel.

Advanced Color Grading is coming to Lightroom with a similar panel to the Lumetri color panel. Check out the video below to see more.

Advanced Color Grading Features

The new panel will allow users to adjust the midtones, highlights, and shadows. Unlike the split toning features in previous versions of Lightroom, this feature allows for a lot more flexibility and customization. Adobe is pushing Lightroom further towards truly advanced color grading, and it’s coming to ALL versions. These features will be available for Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic, and Adobe Camera Raw.

The Color Grading panel also has a global color wheel for universal color adjustments. It includes a luminance slider beneath it.

Seeing as the Lightroom Mobile App has the split toning features, this will also presumably replace that in the mobile app as well, but that has not been confirmed yet.

These new updates will most likely come to Lightroom towards the end of October, and Adobe is going to share more about the advanced color panel at their virtual Adobe Max Conference from October 20-22, 2020. Read more about Adobe Max.
