Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper, longtime friends and the designers behind Rochambeau, have taken inspiration from street life, skateboarding, culture and living in New York City to bring their ideas to life. Since 2011 the two have been designing and creating clothing to provoke effortlessness alongside clean cut designs.
Since the brand has started, Rochambeau has been a winner of the US Woolmark Prize and a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and they don’t plan on letting up in the near future.
The two debuted their new Spring/Summer 2018 collection at New York Fashion Week and we were fortunate enough to cover the event. Cooper and Chandler utilized emotional colors, distressed clothing with patchwork and tape-work detail, rain drop patterns, and a few other tricks.
Along with the incredible outfits that Chandler and Cooper put their models in, they also had their own take on the classic Nike Air Force One. With custom Rochambeau swoosh details, rubber shoe flaps, and other Air force One add-ons, the SS18 show was very well thought out and this was especially noticed in the small details throughout the outfits.
