Rafaella Hanley, the skilled artist behind Lou Dallas, brought forth yet another beautiful collection to showcase in Chinatown during New York Fashion Week this year. With many knitted elements combined with intricate beading and detailed stitching, the line was not only highly precise, it was also made up of recycled, reconstructed, and deadstock materials.
Along with her detail in the clothing, Rafaella also made sure to put the detail into her venue and programming as well. With references to Van Gogh and George Bernard Shaw, Hanley was very precise in the look that she was aiming to create – and she hit her target.
Using her knowledge that she obtained at the Rhode Island School of Design, she was able to blend her fashion line eloquently with her passion in art and romance. It wasn’t hard to tell at the venue and it isn’t hard to tell while looking at her clothes – she is deep and passionate about New York (where she grew up) and art.
